The Center d'Estudis Porcins de Catalunya (CEP) is a consortium formed by the Provincial Council of Lleida, the Regional Council of la Noguera, the Town Council of Torrelameu and the University of Lleida. CEP was born to collaborate with the pork production system following the model of an institution already established in other countries.

The CEP has a clear training, study vocation and research activities. The training activity can be divided into two groups. The first one is to support vocational training schools and participate directly in university training for graduate and post-graduate studies. The second one is to conduct own courses and seminars focused on the main stakeholders of the pig sector. These courses and seminars may be promoted by CEP itself or with the collaboration of various companies and associations or institutions linked to the pig sector. Finally, the CEP has up-to-date research facilities to carry out experimental studies to test the efficacy and safety of pharmacological and immunological products in pigs following the European legislation in force.
